How My Joy is Never Ending

Hello friend! Let’s talk about something that’s as refreshing as a cold drink on a hot day — JOY! But not just any joy, I’m talking about an harvest gotten from time spent with God. An overflow you get when you’ve spent quality time with God. It is what we will call ‘jara’, but what a worthwhile jara!

Now, there’s this verse in the Bible that says, “Be anxious for nothing.” Sounds impossible, right? Especially with what we see daily in the world. But here’s the deal: this command cannot be obeyed without spending time with God and it’s not a command to your flesh but to your spirit — the part of you that gets stronger and re-assurance every time you sit with God and commune with Him. It is the nature of flesh to be fretful, to worry and be anxious. However, as believers we are NEVER to be anxious, we are NEVER to think we are without help.

Imagine having a hotline to peace whenever life starts getting all up in your face. That’s exactly what spending time with God gives you.

Strength to be still in all circumstances comes from having spent time with God. Every time we communicate with God, apart from answers to our prayers which could be a great YES or a loving NO, we leave His presence with joy, and He also fortifies our heart with peace! Isn’t God just the best?

Are you pressured, afraid, confused, depressed, or is your work harassing you? Find yourself to the foot of Jesus. It could be in your room, or even as you work, sometimes you may need a time away, just make sure you talk it to Jesus.

And the best part? Every single time you chat with Him, whether you’re pouring out your heart, asking for something big, or just sitting quietly, you walk away with more than you came with. In His presence there is fullness of Joy, and beloved you need that Joy to remain sane in this present world because Joy is such an effective weapon to have.

So go on, grab that joy. And remember: Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore (Psalm 16:11).

Shalom!
